| |  | opened its doors to publishing children's books in Spanish and English in July, 2001, in celebration of Panama's First International Book Fair, an event which marked a positive change in this tiny cosmopolitan republic.
The English language is Panama's second official language; and though children’s books in any language are extremely important, bilingual books can be more useful; therefore, our mission is to provide multilingual and multicultural books for children and juveniles at affordable prices to help children learn about and appreciate the world around them by reading.
To date, Piggy Press has published fifty-two books and twelve audio stories in the following languages: Spanish, English, Chinese, French and Kuna.
