  • Paper Gift Certificates are available in two denominations:

    • $5.00 (Purchase price $6.00*).

    • $10.00 (Purchase price $11.00*)

  • No cash or other payment is necessary unless the total with shipping is greater than the Gift Certificate amount.

  • Multiple Paper Gift Certificates can be combined to purchase a more expensive item.

  • Paper Gift Certificates are good for one year from purchase date unless a specific expiration date is specified by the Purchaser.

  • Paper Gift Certificates are always used in their entirety.  No partial credit or refund will be issued**. 

*There is a $1.00 handling fee per Paper Gift Certificate to cover printing and mailing costs.
**Paper Gift Certificates are designed for convenience in distributing prizes and achievement awards.   Partial credit is not allowed because of the bookkeeping overhead that would be involved.  For 100% credit equal to the purchase price, use Online Gift Certificates.

  • Paper Gift Certificates are sent to the purchaser.

  • Purchaser notifies the admin when they receive the Gift Certificates in the mail.

  • Admin 'activates' the Paper Gift Certificates.

  • Purchaser distributes the Paper Gift Certificates to the Recipients.

  • Recipient bids or uses the Purchase Now option (if available) to win the item of their choice, 
    Note: To bid, the Recipient must be registered at Children's Book Market or have a registered member bid for them.

  • Buyer spends the Paper Gift Certificate by notifying the seller and giving the seller the gift certificate number.
    Any amount owed over the Gift Certificate amount must be paid by the buyer using one of the sellers accepted payment options.

  • Seller contacts the Admin to confirm the Gift Certificate's validity before shipping the item.

  • Buyer voids or destroys the gift certificate (to prevent accidentally attempting to use it again).

Sellers follow three simple steps to accept Paper Gift Certificates:

  • Contact the admin with the purchased item number and the Gift Certificate number.

  • Admin confirms the validity of the Gift Certificate by return email and credits the seller's account.

  • Seller ships the item to the buyer.

Seller reimbursement:

  • Account credit is immediately available.   Choice of Check or PayPal payment goes out the next business day upon payment request or at the end of each month (there is a minimum payment amount of $3.00).

  • Any existing seller fees will be deducted before payment is sent.

  • Seller can use their account credit to purchase any merchandise on ChildrensBookAuction.

  • Seller can view his account online at anytime.
