Book Type
Book Type is a classification help buyers find merchandise with or without
specific characteristics (such as 'no ex-library'). When sellers assign the appropriate Book
Type value to each of their items, the system can quickly
and accurately return records from only the Book Type or Types
the buyer wants to include in their Search or Browse results.

Ex-Library |
Any book retired from any kind of library or that has any library
markings, stickers, or attachments MUST be categorized as
Ex-Library,
regardless if it is a hardback, paperback or other binding. |

Book Club |
Any book that was issued by a book
club (Weekly Reader, etc) |

Hardback |
Hardback Non ex-library or bookclub
books that have board covers. |
|
Paperback |
Paperback is for any book with Paper
or flexible covers, including staplebound (saddle-stitiched),
spiral bound, etc. |

Board Book |
Board Books have stiff, thick, glossy cardboard pages designed for infants and toddlers.
Also for "vinyl" or "cloth" baby books. |

Pop-Up/
Novelty |
Pop-Up/Novelty can be any book that has moveable parts or features, unusual bindings or
shapes, or comes packaged with non-book item(s) such as toys, game
pieces, or jewelry. |

Audio |
Use Audio
for any recorded book on cassette, CD, or other medium |
|
Video |
Use Video for any video recording;
DVD, Videocassette, or other. |

Poster |
Use Poster for any
children's book poster or related promotional item. |

Non-book/Other |
Use the Non-book/Other
value for any non-text or non-book items such as Accessories, Ephemera, Clothing, Lunch Boxes, etc. |

Undeclared |
Undeclared is the default value for this field. Items with this value generally
indicate a book that was bulk uploaded, but the seller didn't take the time to edit their records to take advantage of our
special identifier fields. Buyers have the option to include or
exclude the
Undeclared value from their search or browse results. |
